Chapter 3 - The New Student

“Class, settle down.” Aizawa said, not heard over the excited chatter of the class. He sighed and tried again. “I said, SETTLE DOWN!” Aizawa shouted. The students heard him this time and immediately quieted down, paying attention to their teacher. “Thank you.” Aizawa said calmly. “Now before we start the new school year, you will be gaining a new classmate. Please treat him as you would any one of your classmates.” he continued. The class was now so silent you could hear a pin drop. Was the commission replacing Izuku already? It’d barely been a month since he’d been declared ‘dead’. “Sohen, you may come in.” Aizawa said, facing the open door. A red head boy with familiar green eyes and a strange pair of shoes. “Hello, everyone. My name is Kuzui Sohen, and it’s a pleasure to meet you.” said the new student. Kuzui walked to his desk, unbothered by the stares and silence. “Welcome, Sohen.” Aizawa said, breaking the awkward silence. “Since it’s the first day of school we will just be doing review lessons, as well as a class tournament second period.” Aizawa told the class before starting his lesson.

Period 2 came and the class headed to the locker rooms to get ready for the tournament. While putting on their hero suits in the boys locker room, Iida noticed Kuzui just sitting there. “Is your hero suit not made yet?” Iida asked. “No, it just needs to be checked over before I can use it.” Kuzui said. “Checked over? I’m not sure I understand.” Iida replied. “I built my own suit, and got it approved by Nezu, but he still needs to check it over for anything ‘malicious’.” Kuzui explained. “You built your own suit dude?! That’s so cool!” Denki said, genuinely excited. “Can we see it?” Sero said. “As soon as Nezu brings it down!” Kuzui said. “Which is right now!’ Nezu said from behind the door. “Is it all good?” Kuzui asked him, walking over to the door. “Yes! And I must say, the materials and features are amazing! I don’t think I would’ve been able to get into the code without your access key.” Nezu said, handing the suit to Kuzui when he opened the door. “Thank you, Nezu. Have a nice day!” Kuzui said, waving as the principal left. “There’s coding in your suit? Bro, I bet yours will be the coolest one, and we’ve all had a year to update and adjust our suits!” Kirishima said, making Kuzui smile before he sat down and opened his briefcase. “Oh, um-” Shoto started, looking over his shoulder to see the suit. “Is that your suit, Sohen?” he asked, pointing to the thin black bracelet inside. Kuzui laughed as he picked up the bracelet and put it on. He tapped it twice, and a green tinted holographic screen showed up. Kuzui swiped at the code on the screen and it dissapeared, leaving his classmates confused. “Uh, dude I think your suit is a bit broken.” Denki said. “Just wait.” Kuzui said, laughing once more. Suddenly, the bracelet started to expand like little pixels and cover his body. In just seconds, he’d gone from wearing his gym clothes to a full black jumpsuit with gray lines down the sides that matched shoes, and a black mask covering his mouth and nose. “THAT IS SO COOL! Kirishima shouted. “The technology must’ve taken forever to develop. Sohen. You must be very talented.” Iida said. “Thanks!” Kuzui replied, pulling the mask down. Since everyone else had also finished putting on their hero suits, the boys left the changeroom to meet the rest of the class outside. “Sorry if we’re late, Mr. Aizawa.” Shoto said. “Yeah! We were just looking at Sohen’s super cool suit!” Denki said, rambling on about the suit before he heard someone around him clear their throat. “Oh, sorry! It’s just a really cool suit.” he added before stopping and looking at Mr. Aizawa. “Alright. This tournament will consist of 10 1v1 battles. Then, the winners of each match will move onto the next round of 1v1 battles and so on, until there is one winner left. You can find out what battles you are in from the board to my left. Match 1 takes place in 10 minutes. Be ready.” Aizawa said to the class.
